VL frame. From Turd to Glory

A real ebay gem this thing was. This is how it arrived in the mail. Return address read Billy Lane choppers inc.
Got to work stripping the crap off of it about a year later.

 Choppin off the neck.
Making room for an overhead valve motor.

Rear plates where full of welded on crap that had to be removed.
 Cleaned up nicely.
At this point I came to the realization that I dont have the capablities to attatch this neck properly so I got ahold of the best metal fab dude within 1000 miles of me and that person was Brandon at Mullins Chaindrive who needs no intro.

The results speak for themselves. This dude is all business man when it comes to this stuff that he was seamingly born to do. He's the guy that takes the extra time to do it rite and doesnt even tell you about it. I'm super happy with the results as is everyone who see's it. Thanks again man.

Rebuilding a Harley crank

Is no small task. I got a quote to have it done and baulked at the price. But after all is said and done I'll pay the pros's next time.
This pinion shaft from ACCEL was within .000 of a thousands. Tits
The torque specs are crazy high on these things.
Get your half's true before putting them together.
After a long battle we got this baby within .0005
If it wasn't for my partner Mike Pepper's vast experience with 2 stoke cranks we wouldn't have even attempted this feat. The tooling needed alone will set you back half the price of a rebuild.
Sealed up nicely and on to more assembly.

RIP

There impact cannot be denied. They broke down so many barriers man. My heart sank a little when I heard. The older guys who may read this might not really get it but if you where born anytime past 69' and skated or punkerd out then you do know.
